Study Commencement- Preliminary Design Members of the public, Indigenous Communities, municipalities, emergency services, government agencies, interest groups and other relevant stakeholders were notified through a ‘Notice of Study Commencement’ Preliminary Design distributed via Canada Post letter mail and/or electronic mail on November 22, 2023. Online Public Information Centre An Online Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held during the Preliminary Design phase to present the study process, identify the preferred plan, existing conditions, anticipated environmental impacts and proposed mitigation and to receive input on the proposed improvements within the study area.
The Notice of Public Information Centre was advertised in the Fergus Wellington Advertiser on March 8, 2024. The Public Information Centre public review period is being held from March 6, 2024 - April 5, 2024.

Transportation Environmental Study Report Upon completion of the Preliminary Design, a Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) will be prepared detailing the existing conditions, socio-economic environment of the study area, the evaluation of alternatives, identify the preferred plan, summary of design features, potential impacts of the undertakings, and required mitigation measures. The TESR will be made available for a 30-day comment period. At that time, a ‘Notice of TESR Completion’ will be published in the Fergus Wellington Advertiser, posted on the project website and sent to the project mailing list containing the dates for the comment period. Stakeholders are encouraged to review the TESR and provide comments. The final TESR will be posted on this website and filed with the Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks for approval once complete. Hard copies of the TESR will be available upon request.
Design and Construction Report Upon completion of the Detail Design, a Design and Construction Report (DCR) will be prepared will be prepared detailing the existing biophysical and socio-economic environment, summary of design features, potential impacts of the undertaking, and required mitigation measures. The DCR will be made available for a 30-day comment period. At that time, a ‘Notice of DCR Completion’ will be published in the Fergus Wellington Advertiser, posted on the project website and sent to the project mailing list containing the dates for the comment period. Stakeholders are encouraged to review the DCR and provide comments. The final DCR will be posted on this website and filed with the Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks for approval once complete. Hard copies of the DCR will be available upon request.
